How the site is funded, and the rules that keep paid placements separate from our research.
Compare Sheds is free to use. This page explains how the site may make money and the rules that keep that separate from our research.
How the site may make money
- Sponsored placements. Builders may pay for a featured or sponsored position on a page, a category or city sponsorship, or an enhanced profile with extra photos and detail.
- Project enquiries. When you send an enquiry, we pass it to up to three suitable builders. We may be paid by builders for enquiries.
Our rules
- Sponsored placements are always labelled, for example "Sponsored partner" or "Featured builder".
- Payment never buys a place in the editorial list, a higher position in it, or a way around our checks.
- Sponsors don't write or approve our editorial copy.
- Links to sponsors are marked as sponsored links for search engines. Other links to builders are marked nofollow.
- We only pass your enquiry to builders that suit your project type and area, and never to more than three.
Right now
No builder currently pays for a listing or placement on Compare Sheds.
